4 Events Newcomers Must Attend in Boston
Ok, so you just arrived in Boston and are eager to jump into the startup community but don’t know where to start. Here are four events that you just can’t miss, especially as a newcomer to the startup community:

1. WebInno – This monthly meetup features amazing new Boston technologies as well as “side dishes” that you can connect with while the main presentations aren’t happening.
Who you’ll meet: You’ll meet entrepreneurs, service providers and professionals working or interested in the startup scene.
Why you should attend: This is one of the best monthly meetups that you can always count on for a good crowd with a variety of roles. The tech presentations are always fascinating and the networking is fast paced.
Location: Royal Sonesta by MIT/ Kendall Square

2. Venture Café- Every Thursday Venture Café opens up to the public on the fourth floor of the Cambridge Innovation Center giving out free beer to all attendees.
Who you’ll meet: Most of the people that attend either work in the CIC as an early stage entrepreneur or are just starting out. But they usually have open office hours with influencers to attend and connect with emerging startups.
Why you should attend: It’s a great place to practice your pitch, get free beer and meet peers at any stage of their career.
Location: Kendall/ MIT

3. Ruby Riot- One of Boston’s best tech startup parties aimed at promoting Boston entrepreneurship and paying it forward.
Who you’ll meet: Boston’s startup’s top influencers, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, newcomers, students and even the governor.
Why you should attend: There are very few other times during the year where you’ll fill a nightclub with Boston most established entrepreneurs actively seeking to connect with and help those that are just beginning their companies. Go and take advantage of it.
Location: The Estate Night Club
4. Unconference- Boston’s most premiere event where you make your own conference agenda and leave with the most valuable connections possible.
Who you’ll meet: This is one of those “anyone who’s anyone” will be there kind of events. This is one of the few times you’ll get every established entrepreneur and influencer together for a day for the sole purpose of collaboration and learning.
Why you should attend: If there’s one event you go to all year this should be it. If the ticket price is too expensive then volunteer or guest blog. Just make sure you follow the unconference rules and create your own value.
Location: Hynes Convention Center
