Purpose Bootcamp: Redefining What Matters After Graduation

Purpose Bootcamp is designed to help students better understand how they can be strong agents of innovation, creativity, and transformation for the communities that matter most to them. Purpose @ BU will equip you with tangible resources and skills to take their passions to the next level and transition them from student leaders to career entrepreneurs!

This workshop is co-led by Innovate@BU and Generation Financial Knowledge Development. 

Students will walk away with: 

  • A stronger sense of self and direction

  • Actionable next steps for a future you want to see

  • Resources to guide your journey/build your roadmap

  • Tools to help in deciding what to do after graduation

  • Personalized public speaking coaching

  • 11:20-11:45: Introduction to Purpose

  • 11:45-12:30: Where You’ve been: Your Purpose in Context (includes interactive activity)

  • 12:30-1:15: Where You Are Now: Using Today as a Starting Point for Your Purpose Journey (includes interactive activity)

  • 1:20-1:30: Guest Speaker TBA

  • 1:30-2:30: Lunch with guided discussion

  • 2:30-3:00: Choosing Your Trail: Navigating School and Work with Purpose (includes interactive activity)

  • 3:00-3:45: When the Wind Blows: The Evolution of Your Purpose


  • 3:45-3:55: Guest Speaker TBA

  • 4:00-4:20: Speaking Your Purpose Into Action

  • 4:20-4:35: Group Communication Exercise

  • 4:35-5:00: Knowing Your Stakeholder: Identification Exercise

  • 5:00-5:10: Guest Speaker TBA

  • 5:15-5:50: Purpose Pitch Practice in Small Groups

  • 5:50-6:00: Wrap up–From This Point Foward

Kelsey Crouch: Kelsey is a leading communications coach having worked with TEDsters with over 2 mill views, to Fortune 100 professionals, Fortune 500 CEOs, innovation frontrunners, and social activist superstars. Kelsey spent 25 years in theatre, film performance, and special event production. She is a member of the immersive theatre company, Odyssey Works, where she and an expanding team of artists create transformative experiences for audiences of one person, performed once and never again

Zach Mercurio: Zach is the bestselling author of “The Invisible Leader: Transform Your Life, Work, and Organization with the Power of Authentic Purpose” and is the founder of PurposeSpeaks.com, the popular blog on purposeful leadership.
