* Boston University, together with Boston Medical Center (BU), represent a research enterprise with more than $400 million in research awards and support a vibrant research community of more than 3,900 faculty and 32,000 students. Many of our research discoveries have important practical  implications, but transferring these discoveries into successful products in the marketplace takes an entrepreneurial culture and experienced guidance.

* The BU Kindle mentoring program will educate faculty, students, and alumni to facilitate early stage business formation. BU Kindle provides a unique opportunity for seasoned entrepreneurs and business executives to have direct and meaningful interaction with the BU community.

Mentors:

• Seasoned entrepreneurs and business executives from a variety industries and business occupations.
• Mentors are volunteers who work individually or in groups and can choose mentee projects.
• Opportunity to network with other mentors via regular meetings.
• Average commitment is two hours per month (one Mentee meeting per month).
• All mentors agree to adhere to a strict code of conduct, consistent with the university’s mission, to ensure that the mentees receive objective counsel.

Mentees:

• Member of the BU Community: faculty, students, or alumni.
• Are actively engaged in the formation of an enterprise that may utilize BU intellectual property.
